CSI New York Seasons 1-4

CSI New York is a crime based drama which is made interesting because of the fact that the base of the show is New York. New York being such a city of character it manages to provide a perfect back drop for such a series. The investigators on the series try to work hard and put the pieces together in order to solve bloody crimes.

CSI New York is the third creation of Anthony Zuiker who had managed to deliver a huge hit when he launched CSI based on Vegas. Then came the Miami version of the series with CSI MIAMI and then came CSI New York. With series too the basic formula remains the same, the difference being the city and the backdrop of the show.

The cast of CSI New York is quite strong, which managed to work in its favor. Gary Sinise, who had been nominated for an Oscar once stars in CSI NY. He plays the part of Detective Mac Taylor who is the central character in the series. Mac Taylor is a dedicated detective who works too hard. Because of the pressures at work and because of the long hours that he puts at his job he is detached from women. Another character in the series is that of Detective Stella Bonasera, played by Melina Kanadaredes who had starred earlier in Providence.

Stella Bonasera is the epitome of feminine toughness on the show. The detective occasionally finds herself in difficult though awkward situations from time to time. When the series began, Stella had been the sexually harassed at work by a colleague, she later manages to solve the problem.

Bonasera feels strongly about women and feels that women stand equal to men. This belief of hers is made clear by Bonasera several times during CSI New York seasons 1-4 dvd boxed sets. There are several instances on the show when Bonasera manages to play tough with criminals when needed while being a soft hearted human being.

The cases in CSI Miami are all crimes that are based locally in New York. Since the series is based much on the crime solving part rather than the scientific solving of the crimes. There are gun fights and mobs, homicides and suicides as well as many rape cases. There are several twists throughout each episode which manage to make these cases interesting and intrigue viewers as to who would have been the criminal.
